Permits, placement and access in Onset
Onset is part of the Town of Wareham, so the local rule applies: under the Massachusetts Comprehensive Fire Safety Code (527 CMR 1.00), any container larger than six cubic yards needs a fire-department permit. Onset is covered by the Onset Fire District — one of Wareham's two independent fire districts — so the dumpster permit comes from there rather than the Wareham district. If the container has to sit on a public street or way, the town requires a separate obstruction permit. Plymouth County has a county government but does not issue these permits. We will sort out which office applies before delivery.
